DEC Haiti Earthquake Appeal

Following the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti last week, ABa is in full support of the Disasters Emergency Committee`s Haiti Earthquake Appeal.

At the weekend the Red Cross estimated that up to 50,000 had already died, with millions more displaced. While it has been a race against time for emergency services to find those still alive, there is now the enormous task of helping those affected and still in need. Haiti is relying on support from the outside world; the destruction has meant that normal emergency services, hospitals and clean running water are either extremely scarce or simply not available.

The DEC is working closely with its member charities to re-establish food, clean water, medicine, shelter and sanitation as quickly as possible. Saddened by this very tragic event, ABa has already made a donation towards the appeal.
